The Department of Educational Policy and Leadership Studies at the University of Iowa is working on a benchmark project that aims to compare Teacher Education Program courses offered at various colleges and universities. Specifically, we are focusing on two key courses offered in our Department: Foundations of Education (EPLS3000) and Human Relations for the Classroom Teacher (EPLS4180). The teaching load is four courses per semester or course equivalents totaling 12 credits. The candidate must be qualified to teach a variety of generalist education classes. The position involves classroom teaching, student advising, field experience supervision, and committee responsibilities. This position is tenure-track eligible. The Iowa State University College of Human Sciences Career Services, Teacher Education Services, and the School of Education are partnering to connect educational institutions with students seeking employment in school settings through the Teacher Education Career Fair.
Students and alumni from throughout the ISU Educator Preparation Program, as well as those from other teacher education programs, are invited to attend. Anyone else who is seeking employment as a teacher, exploring student teaching options, or looking for ways to enhance their professional communication and networking skills is welcome to participate. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet with representatives from school districts and other organizations at the fair.
