Our community college colleagues really appreciated the information we have shared collectively about our current requirements for the pre-professional skills test etc. in response to HF 2359. This information is helpful to them as they advise and prepare their students for transfer into our programs. There has been a request to add information to this document about clinical/observation hour requirements for teacher education program admittance (Have there been any changes? Can students fulfill this requirement through virtual hours or working as tutors with K-12 students as they complete work online?). If a program representative could take the time to add this information to this document it would be much appreciated.
IACTE Members’ Responses to HF 2359 This is one of the most difficult decisions facing our programs and it is one that I am receiving the most inquiries about – what is everyone doing? In order to keep members informed I created another document where programs can voluntarily share their plans pertaining to practicum students and student teachers to date. We know this is a fluid situation and plans will change and evolve. We appreciate those who are willing to share their plans with colleagues!
