We are excited to announce the next in our series of IACTE sessions to SPARK your thinking, a chance to come together and engage in a variety of topics.  

For our next session, Dr. Lindsay Grow from Grand View University will be moderating a session about preparing Iowa’s literacy teachers. This session will feature stories of change in Iowa and time to collaborate with attendees. Additional details can be found on the attached informational flyer.

The session will be held on Friday, December 3rd at 12:00PM via Zoom. This session is a free benefit for our IACTE members. Registration can be completed at https://forms.gle/Pqb7Vxt9dwbMtexx8. A Zoom link will be shared with all registered members the week prior to the session.

IACTE would like to welcome Mark McDermott from the University of Iowa for joining the Executive Committee!  Mark is a Clinical Professor at the U of I. Mark is replacing Nancy as a Regent Institutional Member. You can read Mark's Bio here. 

​​We are pleased to share the information about our IACTE 2021 Spring Conference, Mental Health and Social Emotional Learning, to be held online on two days – Pre-Conference Day – Wednesday, March 24th and Conference Day – Thursday, April 8th. A big thank you to conference co-chairs Angela Hunter (Buena Vista University) and Jeff Haverland (University of Dubuque) for their efforts in putting together an outstanding spring conference around this important and timely topic.
 
Please share this registration information with all of your colleagues at your institution. We are pleased to once again offer FREE registration to all who wish to attend from your institution. Attached is the final schedule that includes times, titles/descriptions, and presenters. Zoom meeting links will be provided to all registered attendees the week of the conference. All sessions both days will be live; sessions will not be recorded. Here are some of the conference highlights!

The award documents for the 2021 Friend of Education Award, the 2021 Iowa Outstanding Leader-Educator Award, and the 2021 Political Friend of Education Award are now available.
